Trains from Pisa to Florence Italy
When I was last in Italy, I was taking a journey on the western side of the country, checking out the beach towns near Florence. I was in Pisa and decided not to take a car this time, as my base was in Florence, so I had to research the trains from Pisa to Florence on my way back. I actually planned this in advance, as I didn't have much time in Pisa and it was a day trip, so hopefully my guide can help you find the right train from Pisa to Florence.

Why choose trains for your Pisa to Florence journey
The main reason I chose trains from Pisa to Florence is the convenience. On average, the trains take around an hour, and I'll get on the fastest trains soon. To drive, it takes over an hour, so it can be quicker on most trains from Pisa to Florence. I also loved the countryside, so you could see the amazing Tuscan hills. Usually I have to drive, meaning you don't really soak it in as you are concentrating, especially as I was on the other side of the road.
Some of the other advantages were not having to pay for parking or even the car. The train lines around there are very well connected, so you can choose to stop off at a historic place like Lucca when taking a Pisa to Florence train or go all the way. You won't get stuck in congestion, and as I work on the road, I could actually work from the train and write this blog. Some trains from Pisa to Florence also have wifi and plug sockets.

How much does a train from Pisa to Florence cost?
Fast train price from Pisa to Florence Italy
The Frecciargento costs €16.90 to get to Florence. That is from Pisa Centrale to Firenze Campo Di Marte. This is for second class. If you want first class, it is €20.90. These tickets allow you to change your booking before departure. They do also have extra options for refundable tickets. I liked it as I got to the station a bit early and changed my ticket to the earlier train.
Now the price is a bit more than regional trains, but I like it because you get wifi on these trains and you can potentially book a seat with a table so I can work on. Also, they have individual plug sockets and reclining seats to have a nap on.
I would highly highly recommend booking in advance if you can, especially during the summer months, as it can get quite busy on the Frecce.
Regional train price from Pisa to Florence
With regional trains from Pisa to Florence Italy, the price costs €9.80 one way. There are no 1st class options and the ticket options are bit more limited. You are allowed to change your ticket but only by the night before.
In terms of amenities, there tend not to be power plugs, wifi, and sometimes you cannot book a specific seat. You will just have to enjoy the view rather than being on your phone. Also, table seats are hard to get, especially during summer. The benefits are that its almost half the price and you have a lot more flexibility in getting to Florence from Pisa, and some of the timings are just 52 minutes.
