The best hotels in Naples
Today I'm going to be talking about the best hotels in Naples. I actually drove to Naples on my way to Rome when I was last in Puglia. I went there because of the pizza. I just love pizza. But also Naples is really known for its history. Naples can be a scary area though, so I had to do a lot of research into some of the best hotels in Naples so I could have an enjoyable stay.
How we select the best hotels in Naples
In terms of how we actually selected the best hotels in Naples, we have family all over Italy. The closest would probably be in Rome, and they've been to Naples quite a few times, so they actually recommended most of the hotels on the list.
But we also did a lot of our own research and we looked at the location a lot. So if they're near historic sites like the Duomo, Cappella Sansevero, or the Piazza del Plebiscito. We also looked at reviews around amenities, restaurants, or really good service. But we also like those that had really good views, maybe of Vesuvius, or just those that really embraced the city's culture.
The best areas to stay in Naples
So I'll start off with some of the best areas to stay in Naples. You've got a few options.
Centro Storico
One is Centro Storico, which means the historic centre. That's in the heart of Naples, and it's actually a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here you've got a lot of buildings like churches, but also really nice winding streets. You'll be close to the Naples Cathedral and Spaccanapoli, which is great for those into history. But also, if you need to get to the train to keep going, this is a great base.
Chiaia
You've got the area of Chiaia and this is a really upscale neighbourhood. It's known for its shopping and dining options, it's very close to the seafront, and it feels a little bit more modern. So a really nice area to stay.
Santa Lucia
Very close by is the area of Santa Lucia. This has really good views of the Bay of Naples. It's also close to Castel dell'Ovo and also the Royal Palace. So a really good place to stay by the ocean.
Vomero
A little bit to the northwest is Vomero, and this is a hilltop area of Naples. So, really good views of the city and the ocean, but it's also a lot quieter as opposed to staying in the centre. Here you can go to Castel Sant'Elmo and the Certosa di San Martino. So really good for a laid-back experience.
Quartieri Spagnoli
If you want to be in the buzz, you've got Quartieri Spagnoli, which means the Spanish Quarters. So really lively, really authentic. Here you're gonna find a lot of street art and local cuisine, and it's very close to Santa Lucia or if you want to walk into Chiaia.
Luxury hotels in Naples Italy
So now I'll tell you about some of the best hotels in Naples. We'll start off with the luxury hotels. Because we were only here for one night, I wanted to stay in one of the best luxury hotels in Naples, Italy. Here you're gonna find some of the best rooms, large rooms, and the service is gonna be fantastic. And they're usually in the good areas in Naples.
Grand Hotel Parkers
So I'll start off with the Grand Hotel Parker's, and that's in the area of Chiaia. This is actually a 5-star hotel built in the 1870s. It has a lot of history and survived World War 2.
Last time I checked, it was renovated in 2020. What I love about this hotel is the 6th floor, where they have their lounge and terrace. So during aperitivo hour, you can get a really nice sunset over the Gulf of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. They also have 2 restaurants, and one is a Michelin-starred restaurant called George.
In terms of the rooms, they're comfortable and modern. Very traditional but really comfortable rooms, and it's one of the best hotels in Naples.

Romeo Napoli
If you're looking for something a little bit different, then there's Romeo Napoli, and this is right in the city centre. A 5-star property.
What's really unique is that it has Japanese architecture, so a little bit different, mixing different cultures in Naples. In terms of rooms, very luxurious, and most of the rooms have a harbour view because it's right next to the Port of Naples.
They have a pool with sun lounges, and that's just beautiful to relax in. One of the best luxury hotels in Naples, also due to the location, you're going to be near all the historical sites and restaurants. So a great place to stay.

Grand Hotel Vesuvio
Next up is the Grand Hotel Vesuvio. This is actually one of a few seafront hotels, so it's right on the water and in the area of Santa Lucia, not too far away from Prada. This hotel in Naples has seen a lot of celebrities over the years.
It's been around since 1882. Here you're gonna get the feeling of old-world comfort with new technology. In terms of the rooms they're super large. But I love the amenities, they have this indoor pool which has a Jacuzzi and there's also a sauna.
And one of my other favourite parts of the hotel is the Sky Lounge on level 10. And then if you're feeling peckish, you can either go out in the area because Santa Lucia is close to other restaurants, but they do have a rooftop garden restaurant which is pretty cool. Due to the celebrities and history, it's one of the best hotels in Naples.

They're super large, very white, very modern, but also very spacious. My friends stayed at this place and said Giuseppe, the hotel manager and owner, was just fantastic when it came to their service.

Caruso Place Boutique & Wellness Suites
If you're looking for somewhere pretty cool, in the Spanish Quarters is the Caruso Place Boutique & Wellness Suites. This is a 4 star hotel but in the historic Berio Palace.
With this place there are only 10 rooms and 7 of them are suites, so you're gonna get the best of the best. Really helpful staff who can actually help you with booking shows in the theatre and also have tours.

Boutique Hotel Metro 900
If you want to stay in the Chiaia district, one of the best boutique hotels in Naples is the Boutique Hotel Metro 900.
This is a 4-star property, very close to the Caracciolo seafront promenade. Again, really good service, the staff are multilingual, which really helps, and they also have an airport shuttle.
What I love about the rooms is you get that kind of black and white, really cool modern hotel, and everything's designer inside. But the beds are memory foam. I'd never stayed in a memory foam bed before, so that was pretty cool.

The best hotels in Naples for the family
Now I'm gonna go onto some of the best hotels in Naples if you're with a family. Sometimes you forget about the little things like babysitting, cribs, maybe they have a pool or a playground. So I'll try and point those out here.
The Britannique Naples
First up is the Britannique Naples, and that's in the area of Chiaia again. It came around from the 1870s and was last managed by Hilton, so very good.
A lot of amenities such as a solarium, gym, and spa treatments. But for families they have so many room options like single rooms and family size rooms, but they also have babysitting services, which is great.
And then if you're driving around, as I did with a car, they've got valet parking.

Grand Hotel Santa Lucia
If you're looking for something a little bit more upmarket for the family, you've got the Grand Hotel Santa Lucia. As the name says, it's in the area of Santa Lucia, so very centrally located, easy to get to Chiaia or to the historic area.
This is probably one of the best luxury hotels in Naples for the family. Super modern rooms, but they have double rooms, deluxe suites, and for the children, they have babysitting, travel cribs, and also high chairs.
And if you don't feel like going out for food they have their own restaurant called Il Pavone, that also has a happy hour last time I checked.

Decumani Hotel De Charme
If you're looking for something a little bit more traditional with the family there's the Decumani Hotel de Charme.
This is actually an 18th-century palace, so absolutely huge. It only has 39 rooms but very traditional. They've got air con, they've got TV, and you can also request cribs. Apart from that, very good service.
They have a terrace and a hair salon if you want to do your hair before dinner. And then you can get babysitting services from this place. So, a great all-rounder, and that's why it's one of the best hotels in Naples for families.

Budget-Friendly Hotels
Now I'm going to get onto some of the cheaper places in Naples, but there are still some of the best hotels in Naples, just better for the wallet. When I was looking for these, I was looking for, you know, did they have all the basics like their own toilets, comfortable beds, good locations. But maybe sacrificing some of the things, like a pool or a spa.
Gold Tower Lifestyle Hotel
I'll start off with the Gold Tower Lifestyle Hotel. You may think it's super expensive, but it's not. The reason I picked this is that it's just a little bit further away from the old town on the right-hand side, but it's super modern, and it's a newly built hotel in Naples.
Very light rooms with brown finishes and huge beds. But it's because it's a little bit further to the east that it's a good price. In terms of amenities, they do have a restaurant, a rooftop terrace, and a spa. And for children, they do have babysitting services, high chairs, and cribs.

Hotel Matilde
If you're looking for something a little bit more in the centre, you've got Hotel Matilde, again a super modern place, and it only has 18 rooms.
So the prices are good, but it is a 4-star property in the Naples centre. You've got everything you need, like air con, showers, Wi-Fi, and also a safe. So very well priced.

Hotel Airone
And then if you're looking for something a little bit more traditional and very well located, there's Hotel Airone. This is probably one of the best hotels in Naples, Italy, for value.
It's right in the city centre and has an awesome rooftop terrace and bar. I'd definitely recommend going there for a drink and checking out the views. In terms of the rooms, it's not fancy, but it does the job, and the beds are really comfortable.
They go all the way up to junior suites, and you've got everything you need, like air conditioning and a safe. Also, a desk if you're travelling for work.
