Where to Stay in San Vito Lo Capo
When it comes to finding where to stay in San Vito Lo Capo, I have to be honest with you, it was actually quite difficult. I couldn't find much about it online. However, it was known to have one of the best beaches in Sicily, and it was one of my stops before heading back to mainland Italy on my Sicily road trip. So I had to go there. Best of all, I came during the couscous festival, which you can read more about in my San Vito Lo Capo travel guide.
Now, San Vito Lo Capo is quite an unknown town. You can't get there by train, only by bus or by car. It's in the northwest part of Sicily, between Trapani and Palermo. It's a small seaside town, so the number of properties is a bit limited. However, there are still a few villas, bed and breakfasts, and other properties. I stayed here for a couple of days because it's quite a small town, but I hope my experience gives you some good details on places to stay in San Vito Lo Capo.
How we choose where to stay in San Vito Lo Capo
As I said, it was quite difficult to find information. So what I actually did was I spoke to family. We have family in Italy, and they gave us a bit of the scoop when it comes to this small town. What they said was there weren't that many properties, but the place is known for its crystal clear waters and natural scenery.
We also looked at reviews, and we looked for those with excellent service, big rooms, and good amenities. When we were looking at places to stay in San Vito Lo Capo, we favoured those with traditional Sicilian architecture while still having some modern comforts. We looked for those with historic buildings or views of the ocean.
Best areas to stay in San Vito Lo Capo
In terms of the best areas to stay in San Vito Lo Capo, there are quite a few, and it is quite a small town.
San Vito Lo Capo town centre
You have got the town centre. This is where you will find all the local restaurants in San Vito Lo Capo, the cafes and the shops. I just love going through in the evening to feel the energy. And you will find most of the properties in the town centre.
San Vito Lo Capo beach
Then you have the beach area. This is where you will find more of the more expensive places to stay in San Vito Lo Capo. But the beach area is known for its white sandy beach and San Vito Lo Capo beach is one of the best beaches in Sicily. I would recommend this for the views.
San Vito Lo Capo outskirts
You also have the outskirts of the town. I say the outskirts, but it is actually a very small town, like you can get from the outskirts in about 400 metres, so it is not actually that far. But it is just a little bit more relaxing, and you will actually be near some of the free parking if you stay on the outskirts. Probably a little bit less great for families, though.
San Vito Lo Capo Macari
There is also a small village near San Vito Lo Capo called Macari, and this is a really untouched place. You will not find many places to stay, but if you do, it is a very authentic Sicilian area. You get views of the countryside and the coastline, and it is more like rural Sicily.
Where to stay in San Vito Lo Capo near the beach

As it's a seaside town, there were plenty of places to stay in San Vito Lo Capo near the beach, all within a five-minute walk away. So here are the top places.
The Panoramic Hotel
The Panoramic Hotel is a four-star property. And you can see in the pictures the views from some of the rooms. You can see the whole coastline, which was really something special in the mornings and in the afternoons.
They also had their own beach area with sun lounges and towels, and when I went there, there were a lot of paid lounges around the town, so this will save you some money.
If you're there with family and they put you at the top, like in the photo, they also have a lift, and getting a lift in Italy in general is just hard to find.
What was really convenient about the Panoramic is that they have free parking, so you didn't have to go to one of the pay parking lots I talk about in my San Vito Lo Capo travel guide, or the free parking which is ages away.
On top of that, they also have a really nice terrace and a restaurant if you don't feel like going into town.

Hotel Capo San Vito
If you're looking for something really modern, you've got Hotel Capo San Vito by Geocharme. This is another four-star place to stay in San Vito Lo Capo, and it is right on the beach. You walk downstairs, and there's the beach, so very convenient.
What else you'll get here, which you can't find at many other places, is spa services such as massages, a mini pool, and a Turkish bath. They also have a rooftop terrace, which I love.
And if you've eaten your way around the restaurants in San Vito Lo Capo, they do have their own restaurant. They also have their own organic farm, which is something a little bit unique, so you can get some really fresh food and have a great meal.

Hotel Riva Del Sole
Another option if you're deciding where to stay in San Vito Lo Capo near the beach is Hotel Riva Del Sole. This is a three-star place to stay, so you'll save a bit of money, but again, very close to the ocean, though not as close as the one before. It is very boutique, and it's probably about ten steps away from the beach.
You'll see in the picture it's a very traditional Sicilian property but very well renovated. I would recommend getting a room with a balcony so you can get those beach views. Apart from that, they have a really nice breakfast spread. Last time I checked, they do have an area on the beach with sunbeds and the fee was about €18.
Something to note, though, is that they don't have parking, so you do have to pay for parking, which is just outside the town. They do have a shuttle, and it costs about €10, or you can just walk in if you like.

Where to stay in San Vito Lo Capo centre
If you don't mind walking a few extra minutes and want to be more involved in the action, you can find some great places to stay in San Vito Lo Capo city centre. So here are some of my recommendations.
Hotel Trinacria
What I like about Hotel Trinacria is that it's very traditional but very clean inside. Also, if you're with your family, they go up to quadruple rooms. It's a three-star place and just a couple of streets away from the beach. They have a wonderful terrace that you can go up to, and you can even have breakfast on the terrace, which is quite nice.
Now, although they don't have a beach area, they can give you a chair and an umbrella for free. Well, that was last time I checked, this might have changed. But it's something to note because there are a lot of reserved beach areas, so make sure you're setting up your sunbed in the right place.

Hotel Mediterraneo
Next, if you're looking for where to stay in San Vito Lo Capo in the city centre, you've got Hotel Mediterraneo Faro. This is a fairly new property, and you can see that in the pictures, how renovated it is, and you can also see that Arabic-inspired design, which is very nice.
It's very close to the centre of San Vito Lo Capo, but also some of the other restaurants in San Vito Lo Capo. What I like about this place is they also have an outdoor hot tub and a terrace, which is lovely to just relax on. San Vito Lo Capo is a very relaxing place to stay.
In terms of rooms, they have single rooms, suites, and also family rooms. In terms of location to the beach, it's just a couple of minutes away.

Hermes Hotel
If you want something super modern in the city centre, you've got the Hermes Hotel. This is a brand new property. What I like about this is it's family-run, and again they have a terrace for breakfast, but they also serve aperitivo as well, which is quite nice. If you look at it and you're not staying there, sometimes you can see anniversaries or parties on the terrace.
One thing to note is that they only have eleven rooms available, so you're probably going to want to book early. The beach is just a five-minute walk away, and if you bring your car, there is free parking, which is a real plus in San Vito Lo Capo. If you're not staying there, make sure to check out our travel guide for more parking options.

Bed & Breakfasts in San Vito Lo Capo
Now I'll go on to something a little bit more traditional, and that's bed and breakfasts in San Vito Lo Capo. We stayed last time in a bed and breakfast, and what I like about it is that it's usually family-run, you get breakfast included most of the time, as it's in the name, and you just get that nice charm and atmosphere. Plus, you may save some money as well.
Sigiuma B&B
I'll start off with a really traditional place that has really good reviews, and that's Sigiuma B&B. You can see in the rooms you've got that traditional orange in there. Nothing fancy, but it really does the job.
Breakfast is free, last time I checked. And if you stay there during the winter, they have a fireplace in the lobby, so great on a cold night.
In terms of the beach, they have a partnership with the sunbeds on the beach, where you can get a discount, and it's just a few minutes' walk away.
Find out more information and check the prices for Sigiuma B&B.

Ro.Ri Rooms
Ro.Ri Rooms is a newly built 4-bedroom boutique accommodation in town. Rosa and Antonio are the owners and try and make you feel as comfortable as possible. A complimentary breakfast is served every morning with local products.
The rooms have comfortable beds, tv with digital channels, aircon and rainfall showers. Close by are restaurants like Ristorante Profumi di Cous Cous or historical buildings such as Santuario de San Vito.

B&B Fra Lu Mari
If you're looking for somewhere a little bit quieter, the town is pretty quiet itself, but even quieter is B&B Fra Lu Mari. This is down a quiet street, and what I like about this is that the rooms are slightly more modern, so you'll get a flat screen TV and air conditioning, which is a must during the summer.
Apart from that, some little extra things I like: they have bikes so you can get around the town, and like I said in my travel guide, it really is a biking and walking town. But they also have free parking for your car as well, so you don't have to go find a car park.
Apart from that, the service is really good. It's run by Mariella, and if you're looking for things to do in San Vito Lo Capo, they can help you book.

Where to stay in San Vito Lo Capo with a family
So now I'll go on to places to stay in San Vito Lo Capo with a family. I think some things you've got to consider: how close they are to restaurants, how close they are to the beach, because you don't want to be dragging all your stuff too far. How old are the kids or family? Do you want connecting rooms or do you want to be far away from each other? So here are some of my recommendations for places to stay in San Vito Lo Capo with a family.
Camping Villa La Pineta
Just east of the main beach, you've got Camping Village La Pineta. This is a four-star property, perfect for families. The reason why is that you can select from rooms, but they also have large villas available. And taking it one step further, they also have a campsite if you want to bring your caravan, if you're doing a tour around Sicily, as I did.
The rooms have air conditioning. In terms of getting to the beach, it's only a few moments away, but they actually have swimming pools. So if you sometimes get enough of the sand, they have two pools to choose from.
If you're into sports, they have water sports, and they also have a soccer and tennis court. At nighttime for the kids, they also have an open-air disco.
And lastly, they have a restaurant on site, and the chef there, Vincenzo, was actually the winner of the San Vito Lo Capo couscous festival in 2009. And that was the main reason I actually came to San Vito Lo Capo.

San Vito Lo Capo Apartment
If you're looking for more apartments to stay in with your family, you've got San Vito Lo Capo Apartment. What I like about this is the washing machine, especially if you're taking a tour around, you don't have to go find somewhere around town to do your washing. You can do it there and then and just come back to it.
They also have normal amenities such as a kitchen, air conditioning, and free Wi-Fi. In terms of the units, they hold about six people, and they have their own balcony.
You'll see in the picture that they also have a pool, which is shared, but it's nice and big enough for quite a few people. If you want to head to the beach, it's only a few minutes away.

Hotel Mira Spiaggia
I'll round it out with a family place, and that's Hotel Mira Spiaggia. This is right on the beach, so you don't have to worry about walking to the beach.
They have their own beach area with sunbeds, which is a big plus. And they have their own ice cream shop, so perfect, you don't have to go looking around for ice cream.
If you want to go for dinner, they have their own restaurant which has amazing ocean views. The rooms are very large and they have family size options, and most of them have a balcony with beautiful ocean views.
If you want something even bigger, they do have apartments close by that you can book. And if you're travelling around and have your own car, there is free parking.

Where to stay in San Vito Lo Capo tips
So just some tips. I'd probably read reviews first. I tend to read about ten to twenty before booking. I think that's very important so you can see the good and the bad.
I'd also recommend booking early. San Vito Lo Capo is quite a popular destination, and although there aren't that many people, there aren't that many properties either, so they tend to get booked up. I'd recommend booking about six months in advance.
I'd also check about parking. Find out if the property has free parking or if it's pay parking. And if they don't have parking in general, make sure to check out my San Vito Lo Capo travel guide which talks all about the ZTL, the parking options, free parking, and so on.
Now I hope you liked my where to stay in San Vito Lo Capo guide. If you have stayed in San Vito Lo Capo and have other recommendations for places to stay, please drop them in the comment box below. I can check them out and share them with my readers.
