Best Restaurants in San Vito Lo Capo Sicily
When it comes to San Vito Lo Capo, what really stood out for me was the food. It is a coastal town, so you get a lot of seafood and fish dishes. But what it is also really known for is the Couscous Festival. So you are going to be able to get a lot of couscous in all different flavours depending on the owners. In this guide, I am going to talk you through some of the best restaurants in San Vito Lo Capo, and that will include couscous.
How we select the best restaurants in San Vito Lo Capo
So when it comes to actually selecting where to eat in San Vito Lo Capo, we were there for 2 nights and 3 days. It is quite a small town. We started off with recommendations from family, although not a lot of family had actually been to San Vito Lo Capo because it is quite an unknown town. But we also speak Italian, so we spoke to a lot of the locals, and they gave us the hidden gems in the area.
We also looked at reviews from other food critics. We looked for those that had nice hospitality, not the people that try and get you into the restaurant, as those are usually some of the tourist traps. We also liked those that might have a quieter, more relaxed ambience, which is more preferred as it was just us as a couple travelling. If you are with a family, we tend to talk about those who have more of an ambiance too.
We also looked for those that might have al fresco dining, which is fantastic during the summer, or that might have views of the ocean. We also looked for the San Vito Lo Capo restaurants that have locally caught seafood instead of imported, as we love fresh fish. And you will see in the picture below just how busy it gets in San Vito Lo Capo. However, it was in September, and here is where we were searching for some of the best restaurants in San Vito Lo Capo.

Michelin Restaurants in San Vito Lo Capo
In terms of my best restaurants in San Vito Lo Capo guide, I will start off with Michelin. Although it is a small town, San Vito Lo Capo does have some Michelin-nominated restaurants. They start from 0, being nominated. One star is a very good restaurant, two stars is worth going out of your way, and three is one of the best restaurants in San Vito Lo Capo and worth a special trip. So here are some of the Michelin nominated restaurants in San Vito Lo Capo.
Profumi del Cous Cous
We will start off with Profumi del Cous Cous, and this is probably the number one Michelin restaurant in San Vito Lo Capo. What I love about this is they have the inside, but where you really want to sit and get a table is outside. It is a lovely traditional restaurant with citrus trees alongside it. Here you are going to get a lot of blends of traditional dishes that have been modernised, and couscous is the star attraction, and you can see in their name.
Here, you can get some of the best couscous in San Vito Lo Capo, and the varieties stem from lamb, meat, and pork, which are all mixed together, or the fish couscous. And if you are a vegetarian, they have a Marrakech couscous. This is your go-to place, and you must book in advance when you are going to San Vito Lo Capo.
Best of all it's open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week.
Address: Via Regina Margherita, 80, 91010 San Vito Lo Capo TP, Italy.
Gna' Sara
Next, I will go on to Gna' Sara, and this is actually a Michelin-nominated restaurant that is family-run, so you get a lot of traditional food. It has been around since 1993. What I like about it is that they do not actually accept any reservations, last time I checked, so it is first-come, first-served. Arrive early, as a lot of the locals will eat out quite late, between 8 and 10. So I would probably recommend getting there between 7 and 8 to make sure you get a table.
Again, you can get a lot of fish dishes, such as the fritto misto. You can also get pizza there, so there is a large variety on the menu. And for those who are gluten-free, they have a lot of good options. Something that I love finding in some of the best restaurants in Sicily is swordfish. If you have not had it, try it at this place.
See the Gna' Sara Menu.
Address: Via Duca degli Abruzzi, 8, 91010 San Vito Lo Capo TP, Italy.
Mirko's
Going to another Michelin restaurant in San Vito Lo Capo, this one is a bit of a drive away. So if you just want to get out of town for the day and drive somewhere special, it is called Mirko's. This is a family run restaurant. Chef Chef Melchiorre, who is also known as Mirko, has worked in quite a lot of other restaurants in the past, and he uses Sicilian techniques in prepping his fish and seafood dishes.
What I love about Mirkos is the atmosphere. It is set on the cobblestones going down the stairway with a beautiful view of the countryside through a town that is lit up at night. Depending on where you are sitting, you may also see a view of the ocean and the boats nearby. Some of the foods that I liked were the raw fish and buziate pasta with sea urchins.
Now, sea urchins are not for everyone; however, this was a great meal. Since you are out of town, I would also stick around for dessert, where they have a really nice tiramisu, and then finish it off with a limoncello. Just do not have too many limoncellos if you are driving.
Mirko's operates six days a week until late, with Wednesdays being their weekly day of closure. See Restaurant Mirko's Menu.
Address: Via Discesa Annunziata, 1, 91014 Castellammare del Golfo TP, Italy.
Best restaurants in San Vito Lo Capo for fine dining
So those are some of the best restaurants in San Vito Lo Capo for Michelin. Now I will go on to fine dining. These are usually some places that are trying to get to Michelin or have really good service, and you may save a bit of money, too.

Ristorante Rais
One that keeps popping up when I was talking to some of the locals is Ristorante Rais. Now this is very close to the beach and actually quite a small venue, only around 60 people in there. They have their traditional menu, but they also have a lot of off-menu specials that you should try when you are eating in San Vito Lo Capo.
Some of the highlights are probably going to be the couscous options and the tuna dishes. They also make octopus very well. So Ristorante Rais serves traditional dishes that they reinterpret with their own creative touch.
Open 7 days a week for dinner. See the Ristorante Rais Menu.
Address: Via Principe Tommaso, 8, 91010 San Vito lo capo TP, Italy.
Divino Restaurant
Next, I will go to Divino Restaurant, and this place has a lot of seafood and fish dishes. It has a really nice atmosphere to it, and all the dishes look fantastic when they come out, so really a great fine dining restaurant in San Vito Lo Capo.
The menu does change, but what I tried last time was the cuttlefish ink tagliolini with prawns and sea urchins. Hopefully, they still have that on the menu because that was delicious.
Divino Restaurant operates 7 days a week.
See the Divino menu
Address: Via Duca degli Abruzzi, 7, 91010 San Vito lo capo TP, Italy.
Disio Ristorante Siciliano
Next is Disio Ristorante Siciliano, and this is a little bit off the main strip in San Vito Lo Capo, so it is a little bit quieter, and you get some really good service in this place. The chefs are Joseph and Antonio, and their story is that they used to get a lot of inspiration from their grandparents when they used to go on fishing trips on Sundays.
Every Sunday, they would be looking to get fresh fish for their soups for the family. So when they make their dishes, they say they are going back to some of their childhood moments, and you can really get a feel for that.
It is a little bit of a quiet place, but they have absolutely fantastic food. To start, they have pistachio and fennel bread, which is lovely. They have pasta with octopus ragu, and so many other meals, including couscous, if you want to get couscous. Thinking back to this and just thinking about what I had, it makes me hungry. I will definitely recommend going there.
Disio Ristorante Siciliano is open seven days a week, serving dinner until late. See the Disio Ristorante Siciliano Menu.
Address: Via Piersanti Mattarella 98 San Vito Lo Capo, 91010 TP.
Best traditional restaurants in San Vito Lo Capo
Now comes to the part in my blog that I absolutely love, and this is getting onto the best restaurants in San Vito Lo Capo that are traditional. These are the recommendations that I got from family and from some of the locals, and I had some of the best couscous in San Vito Lo Capo that I have ever had.
Here, you do not have to put on anything formal. I was just rocking in with shorts and a t-shirt, and a few of these places were off the main strip, which I loved.
Salumeria Enoteca Peraino
Now, before I go into that, I am actually going to start off with an aperitivo place. So if you do not feel like eating a full meal and just want a little snack, a little bit further away from the strip, is Salumeria Enoteca Peraino.
And you can see in the picture below that meat and cheese. It was fantastic. And you can see the limoncello too. Getting limoncello in Sicily is amazing, and it is just not the same when you go home. So a great way to start the night before going to some of the best restaurants in San Vito Lo Capo.

Address: Via Camillo Benso di Cavour, 81/A, 91010 San Vito Lo Capo TP, Italy
Trattoria du Lantirneri
So I hope you are still reading, because this is my number one restaurant in San Vito Lo Capo. It is reasonably priced, and you get huge portions. You just have to go to this place. I actually forgot the name. I forgot to record the name when I went there, and when I checked my Wise card, I could not find any information. I spent hours trying to find this restaurant. In the end, in one of my pictures, I found a nearby B&B, and this is how I managed to locate this restaurant again.
It is called Trattoria du Lantirneri. What I liked about it is that I had no idea what some of the items on the menu were, but I knew I liked squid, and I wanted to try couscous, because obviously, San Vito Lo Capo is famous for couscous.
And I did not know what to expect, but what it was, the Calamaro Ripieno is actually couscous inside of a squid, and it was huge, and the flavours were just delicious. This, if you are looking for something a little bit different, is the best couscous in San Vito Lo Capo. It is also off the strip, so it is in a bit of a quieter area. You will not see many people there, but you will see the locals, and that is how I knew it was great.

Apart from that, they have all kinds of other things, such as shrimp, mussels, and seafood ravioli. I actually came back here twice after I remembered where it was. So if you are looking for the best place to eat in San Vito Lo Capo, make sure you come here.
Address: Via Santuario, 58, 91010 San Vito Lo Capo TP, Italy
Allantica Osteria
Another one that is a little bit off the tourist strip is Allantica Osteria. Again, traditional Sicilian cuisine focuses on fish and seafood. I had so much seafood when I was in San Vito Lo Capo, which is also really good for you, and it was also very reasonably priced. They have indoor dining, but they also have outdoor dining on a wooden deck, so that was a really nice place to go in the evening while it was in the high 20s.
From here, you can get not just seafood, but other items such as lasagna, and that is a traditional lasagna. They also have paella, and something that I loved was the spaghetti alle vongole.
Allantica Osteria operates six days a week, serving both lunch and dinner while remaining closed on Wednesdays.
Address: Via Regina Margherita, 14, 91010 San Vito lo capo TP, Italy.
Ristorante Pizzeria Cortile di Cere
Now, if you have had enough of couscous and seafood, there is Ristorante Pizzeria Cortile di Cerere. You can get some really nice pizzas here. Vegetarian pizzas, pizzas with truffle, with mortadella, and a very traditional Sicilian pizza.
Apart from that, they also have some of the other local dishes as well, such as the seafood, the couscous, the mussels, and the vongole. And this was a really inexpensive restaurant in San Vito Lo Capo. Last time I checked, just to give you some perspective, a seafood pasta was about 20 euros. A cuttlefish was 15 euros.
See the Cortile di Cerere Menu.
Address: Via Generale Arimondi, 65, 91010 San Vito lo capo TP, Italy.
Azzura Makari
So if you are looking for a restaurant with a fantastic view in San Vito Lo Capo, head over to Azzurra Makari. Now this one you are going to need to drive to, it is a little bit outside of town. But this is a really nice traditional restaurant with a view.
They have this terrace, and if you come at sunset, it is such an incredible view. It is just a lovely view of the hillsides and the ocean. If you are with a large party, it is just so nice to be a part of.
They have all the traditional dishes such as the couscous, the caponata, and the busiate. It is also run by Chef Mario, who has been doing this for over 30 years. What he is known for is wood oven cooking, so you do get that slight taste to it.
Address: Via Timpone Macari, 100, 91010 San Vito lo capo TP, Italy.
Dessert Places in San Vito Lo Capo
So I have talked a lot about where to eat in San Vito Lo Capo, but sometimes when you are on holiday you may want to have dessert elsewhere and try something run by a pastry chef. And San Vito Lo Capo is just so nice to walk around after dinner. So I thought it would be great to add the dessert places off the back of some of the best restaurants in San Vito Lo Capo.
Pasticceria Capriccio
We will start off with Pasticceria Capriccio. Here you are going to find a lot of Sicilian desserts and cakes, and they also have gluten-free options.
This place is run by Pamela and Leonardo, and they are highly skilled pastry chefs that use some of the traditional recipes from the past. Apart from the cakes, I would probably recommend a ricotta cannoli and the pistachio cakes.
If you want to have something savoury, they have homemade pistachio and speck arancini. You do not have to go there just for dessert. They also, last time I checked, open 7 days a week in the morning and in the evening.
Address: Via Pier Santi Mattarella 106 91010 San Vito Lo Capo
Gelateria Belli Freschi
If you want to go for ice cream, which is lovely during the summer, there is Gelateria Belli Freschi. All the gelato is homemade, and some of the flavours that I tried were the brioche. Sicily is also known for almonds and pistachios. It is very close to the beach, so if you are eating at the restaurants near the beach, perfect.
Address: Via Savoia 107, 91010, San Vito lo Capo, Sicily Italy.
Laboratorio Dolci Peralta
Now I do not know why I put this one last, because this is one of my favourites, and that is Laboratorio Dolci Peralta. This has been open for over 3 decades.
What I found out is that it started out when Vito, who is the owner, used to go for a doughnut every week. Because of this, he got such a sweet tooth, and that sparked his passion for creating desserts. So here you are going to find a lot of traditional Italian desserts.

You can see in the picture below that I chose the ricotta cake and the ricotta cannoli. I paired that with an espresso. It was absolutely delicious. It is also a little bit off the tourist area, so it is a little bit quieter. They have a couple of chairs outside where you could sit down and eat the dessert.

Address: Via Savoia, 26, 91010 San Vito lo capo TP, Italy.
So I hope you liked my best restaurants in San Vito Lo Capo guide and got some good ideas. If you have been there before and want to add a particular place, drop it in the comments below. My readers can see and get more value from it. You might also want to check out where to stay in San Vito Lo Capo and the San Vito Lo Capo travel guide.

When it comes to the best couscous in San Vito Lo Capo, it is going to be between Profumi del Cous Cous, because you can get all the various traditional flavours there. But I am also going to say Trattoria du Lantirneri, because I had it in the squid and the flavours were just incredible.
